Children under the age of eight are, by current diving regulations and training standards, unable to participate in the sport. They are nevertheless fascinated and intrigued by the underwater world. Especially with recent movies such as the Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and countless other underwater based stories and films. For diving parents it is sometimes difficult to impart the wonder of their experiences gained while diving except by waiting until that eight or tenth Birthday to share it with their Children.
In this section we hope to provide some activities and ideas for diving parents to include their young children in the sport they love. We would like to include educational resources, drawing and colouring activities and even games. If you have any ideas how to expand this section or materials you would like to donate we would be happy to hear your thoughts and accept your contributions.
As many of the ScubaTribe team are parents, we look forward to diving with our children someday but realize that eight years is a long time to wait. We can therefore try to impart a bit of the wonder and excitement we feel through land based activities with our children.
Have a look at some of the following links for ideas and here is a nice childrens book from Amazon.com
